Eating out in Liverpool

This visit to Liverpool we were staying in the city centre so there was a wide choice. On Saturday night we went out for something to eat. It was a lovely night and the city centre was busy. There are plenty of chain restaurants but we wanted to eat somewhere different. After trying a few restaurants we discovered we should have booked. We landed lucky when there was a cancellation at The Hanover Street Social. The food was lovely Terry and I both had pork belly with Stornaway black pudding.

On the Sunday we booked a table at The Salt House Tapas, which turned out to be the sister restaurant of where we ate on Saturday. Again the food was excellent. Even though we ate at 5pm the lunch offer was still available – three tapas dishes and sourdough bread for £10.20. The portions were slightly smaller but still enough food. The only downside was that Matthew didn’t enjoy the food. He managed to get a burger before The Who concert.
