Our first full day in Birmingham started with a trip to The Sealife Centre. It was worth a visit, especially as we were in first in the queue. It got very busy. We had a wander round looking at the fish. The main ocean tunnel was amazing with the turtles and hammerhead sharks. The other highlight was the 4D show on the journey of a turtle. We all enjoyed it, but having been to Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta it did not live up to that – still worth a visit.

Although we just walked quickly through the market it was worth the quick few – lots of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as the usual market stalls. Best market I’ve seen in UK for a long time. We had lunch sitting on the steps of the main Bull ring shopping centre. It is amazing but as it was Saturday it was very busy. We had a wander but other than Selfridges didn’t find many stores that are not in other cities. Of course we had to find the iconic bull. We then walked back to the hotel pausing to look at some of the statues. City Centre Birmingham on PhotoPeach-
