After our trip to Stonehenge we headed north to Avebury. We had a quick stop in Malborough to collect some food for a picnic. We had a picnic in front of one of the stones. Unlike Stonehenge, we could touch the stones. The stones in Avebury are all around the village. They are very like some of the stone circles in Scotland. Eleanor preferred Avebury to Stonehenge. She thought it was more impressive especially the ditch which had been hand dug and was bigger than Stonehenge.

We finished off the day by a shopping trip to Swindon and a quick tea.
