Yorktown

On Monday we headed towards Williamsburg via Yorktown. Yorktown is where the English were defeated by George Washington’s army creating an independent America. We visited the Yorktown Victory Center which showed the events that lead up to the revolution, the victory and a farm after the revolution.

The centre was good but we all agreed that we preferred Jamestown.

After a trip around the centre we went into Yorktown itself to grab a bite to eat. We found an excellent beach deli where Terry and I both had scallop sandwiches while the kids shared a pizza. It didn’t look much but the food was excellent.
