We arrived in Cape Charles on Wednesday evening. We have a rented a three bedroom cottage three blocks from the beach. After dinner we took a walked down to the beach. We were in time for sunset, which was wonderful.

On our first full day we decided to spend some on the beach. The beach was quiet – well apart from our kids. The water was lovely and not deep. The kids loved it, so did we. . It was cloudy with a breeze but still comfortable. It lulled us into a false sense of security. Although we had slimed up with suntan lotion we spent a little too long in the sun. Terry and I suffered the worse!

At night we went to a recommend restaurant Stingrays. It didn’t look much part of a service station, but the food was excellent. We may have to revisit before we leave the area.
