Shopping

On Monday we decided to take a break from the sight seeing and went shopping. Downtown Washington has some shopping but we decided to go to Georgetown. The only problem is that the nearest metros are not very close. Luckily there is bus that connects Du Pont Circle with Georgetown.

We got there early. Too early as most of the shops did not open until 10am. There were the usual types of shops Gap, American Eagle, Abercombe and Fitch, Victoria Secrets etc. The sales assistants varied from not caring if we bought anything to stalking us round the store. They seem to be hit as badly as UK stores with prices still being cut by some stores.

We had lunch in Johnny Rockets – that’s us been to three of these – Orlando, Atlanta and now Washington.

After a quick trip round Barnes and Noble to get a map and guide book for next week we headed back to the hotel for a rest.
