Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is the largest stone monument in the world. We decided to tour the monument today – Saturday 18th July – which meant having to queue up early for tickets. So at 9.30am when we managed to get tickets it was for 3.30pm.

It was worth the wait as the views from the top were stunning as you can see from the slideshow. Even Terry wasn’t too bad with the height especially as it is all enclosed.
